            Application Driven Campus Network Practice – A Well-Known University in Hunan

            A well-known university in Hunan has adopted the New H3C AD Campus solution in order to decouple campus users and services from network locations through a combination of SDN and VXLAN, so that the network can automatically adjust to user needs.

            The campus network of the university provides the development interface and programmable control platform through the SDN controller DR2000. DR2000 can provide effective technical support for future network development, so as to meet the future needs of different network resources via programming, and realize an application driven campus network.

            The following functions were realized after New H3C AD Campus was adopted by the university:

            1. The network accompanies the user, which means the network can do away with location restriction, resolve the tidal phenomenon of campus networks, and save 20 class-C public network IP address segments.

            2. Using Overlay network slicing technology, most campus services are carried on a virtual private network.
